If this next Covid spike doesn’t have you daydreaming of a warm weather getaway, I don’t know what will! We are planning on heading down to Palm Beach next week for New Years but like so many others, we’re currently reevaluating all of our upcoming travel plans. All I know is if we don’t go, we will need a warm weather getaway in our future asap!
Anywho, I am loving all of Shopbop‘s new resort-ready styles. From new swimsuits and cover-ups from fan favorites like Hunza G and Beach Riot to colorful new dresses from ALC and Zimmermann, there are so many new goodies to browse for any upcoming vacation plans you might have!
Some of my favorite vacation styles I bought last summer for our honeymoon that I know I’ll wear on repeat next year are the classic round sunglasses from Ray-Ban, the Parker Long Loose Vintage Shorts from Agolde, and the Jeanne Hat from Gigi Burris – this hat was easily the best purchase I made before our trip. I wore it every single day and couldn’t recommend it more.
If you’re looking for some pretty vacation dresses, you HAVE to look at Caroline Constas‘ latest collection. I seriously want every single piece – also her bathing suits and ruffle shorts are adorable!! Augua Bendita, AJE and Staud are my other go-to brands for fun vacation dresses.
Happy holidays and warm weather dreaming. 🙂 Xx. Lauren
Bonjourno!!! We are officially back from our two week honeymoon in Italy – I can’t wait to share with you guys our itinerary, must visit hotels and top meals and restaurants!
In the meantime I wanted to share what I wore as well as some of my favorite recent purchases that would be great for any beach vacation. Last month I shared what I was packing for our honeymoon and I am happy to report back that I wore my new Gigi Burris hat literally everyday paired with my new Ray-Bans. I really should have switched it up more but honestly both were so comfortable it just made getting dressed everyday quite easy.
On the swim front, I wore my Montce Swim on repeat in Capri and Positano paired with my 9Seed cover ups and Birkenstocks. I was introduced to Montce earlier this year by one of my girlfriends and it may be one of the best swimwear brands I’ve ever tried – the fit is flattering but also soooo comfortable.
On the Birkenstock front, I personally love their plastic “Arizona” style sandals for the beach but their classic style with the big buckle are just as comfortable. Can you tell I go for comfort at all costs?! #thisis30
Other swimsuits I wore throughout the trip include some oldies but goodies from L*Space, Mara Hoffman and Beach Riot. I also picked up a brand new Agua Bendita blue and white one-piece that I had my eye on for a few weeks before we left for our honeymoon. I know the picture below was snapped a bit far away but you can get a sense of the style.
Oh, I also lived in linen while we were abroad – linen dresses, linen tops and linen shorts. It was so hot even by the sea that I really gravitated toward every single linen piece I had in my suitcase. Luckily it’s still very hot here in New York so I’ll be able to get a few more wears out of my favorite linen pieces from the trip!
So those are the big highlights/favorite purchases I wore on repeat during our honeymoon BUT I also wanted to make sure you guys saw the Shopbop summer sale that is happening right now!!!!
With fall right around the corner I have my eye on everything cashmere — even in Italy I wore my White + Warren scarf (mostly on the plane and in airports) but I also picked up one of their cardigans a while back which came in quite handy when I wanted a light layer of warmth!! There are a few cashmere styles that I see are on sale that you should definitely check out.
You guys know how much I love to travel so putting together travel gift ideas for the jet setter on your list is always so fun for me! Over the past few years, I’ve learned a thing or two about my absolute “must haves” whenever I get on an airplane or train — many of which would make for great stocking stuffers or bigger gift ideas!
I personally like to travel with a carry-on suite case to avoid any delays that might come with checking a bag. Mark and Graham has come out with a new Terminal 1 Carry-On that is just as durable as it is chic. What I love most about giving this carry-on as a gift is that you can make it personal. Mark and Graham has a wide variety of monogram and color options to choose from! I would opt for a navy with white monogram, who’s with me?
I can’t travel without my back up external Mophie charger. Mophies come in a wide variety and colors. I personally like the XL version which provides up to two full charges for your iPhone – essential when you’re on a long flight! Make sure to get this version as I’ve noticed Amazon put several refurbished options on their website which can get confusing! In order to keep all of my chargers in place, I also like to travel with this leather wire roll up. One of my biggest pet peeves is when I have all of my chargers loose in my purse!
Whenever I travel, I like to be as comfortable as possible. This means cashmere pants (a new discovery for me!), APL sneakers (seriously obsessed with), and a comfortable cardigan because I’m always cold on planes and trains.
Other great travel gift ideas include this passport case, this worldwide travel adapter, these seersucker travel bags or this weekender which would make for a great gift for her, or him! Last but not least, I always like to take a peek at Shopbop’s travel accessories whenever I’m searching for travel gift ideas since they have a wide variety!
I’ve linked to all of my previous gift guides below. Happy Shopping! Xo. Lauren
One of my favorite things about living on the east coast are the weekend trips. Summer is absolutely insane with travel but I honestly wouldn’t have it any other way. I love being able to escape the city quite easily on the weekends.
Last week I traveled to Newport, Rhode Island with my mom, aunt and cousin. Every summer since I was in middle school we have been traveling to the east coast (Connecticut) to visit my cousin, Holly. Within this trip, we try to include a quick two day trip to a new town: Cape Cod, the Hamptons, Newport, etc. Now that I’ve been living on the east coast, it’s been so easy for us to combine these trips.
When this year’s annual trip rolled around my mom and aunt wanted to go back to Newport. As I mentioned last week, I’ve only been to Newport once with my blogger friends. I have to admit, I didn’t fall in love with the town when it was mid-February with mounds of snow everywhere. Traveling during the summer to this cute New England town, however, is a definite game changer. Here’s what we did in just 48 hours.
Day 1: On your drive to Newport, stop at the Ocean House in Watch Hill, Rhode Island. Grab lunch, a cocktail or just walk around the grounds. The grounds are perfectly manicured with croquet courts, hydrangeas, and white rocking chairs. Let’s just say I found the perfect place to get married (after I find a new boyfriend, of course). Continue the drive to downtown Newport. Check in to the hotel. We ended up staying in the Harbor Side Inn – the cutest little bed and breakfast. Located right in the center of town off of Thames street, the Harbor Side Inn is walking distance from numerous boutiques, shops and restaurants.
Walk over to Bannister’s Wharf to catch the Madeline sail boat. Situated directly on the waterfront, the Madeline sailboat is the perfect way to enjoy the spectacular views of Newport Harbor and Narragansett Bay. After your boat tour, head over to Forty 1 North for dinner right on the water. Order a glass of rose and king salmon for dinner.

Day 2: Schedule 1-2 mansion tours. The Breakers is an absolute must. Other fan favorites include Servant Life tour at the Elms and the Rose Cliff mansion tour. After your tours, drive over to Castle Hill Inn for lunch. Sit in the Adirondack chairs and take in the view.
After shopping head to the Mooring for dinner. If you have enough time before sunset, head to Narragansett Lane or Ruggles Ave to enter the Ocean Cliff Walk. Walk past the mansions from the waterfront and take in the ocean views. A definite Newport must!
