10 Skincare Products I’ve Been Using On Repeat

Skincare-Products

I have been focusing a lot of my energy on my skin care routine as of late. Mainly because it’s dead of winter and these freezing temperatures have been rough on my skin! Anmi right?!

Today I wanted to share 10 skincare products I’ve been using on repeat this winter. Some of these products I have been using for quite some time – Insert Clinique’s Moisture Surge Moisturizer and Erno Laszlo’s White Marble Mask. New-to-me products include this Vitamin C Serum and this Sisley-Paris Black Rose Mask. I decided to incorporate a Vitamin C serum after my most recent visit to the Erno Laszlo Institute. I learned from y aesthetician that a Vitamin C serum is a great add on to your current beauty routine if you need more moisture and also a great substitute if you’re not ready to try retinal. She highly recommended this for girls in their twenties! There’s nothing I love more than learning from skin care experts on how to best treat your skin!

Any who, take a peek at my current favs on repeat below and if you’ve been loving my beauty content – be sure to check 4 tips I learned from a Sisley-Paris Skincare Expert and all of my previous beauty posts right here! Happy Thursday. Xo. Lauren

4 Tips I learned From a Sisley-Paris Spa Skincare Expert
1

Winter-Skincare-Tips

The other week I had a chance to visit the Sisley-Paris Spa located at the one and only iconic Carlyle Hotel on the Upper East Side. Not only did I love visiting the hotel during my visit, I absolutely loved my facial!! I was so excited when the Sisley-Paris team asked me to visit their location on the Upper East Side as it’s one of the most prestigious cosmetic brands in the world. Their products are extremely high quality and the brand is built on a history of phytocosmetology. Any time I have a chance to visit a world renowned spa, I always ask 100 questions to my aesthetician. There’s nothing like asking an expert for their secret skin care tips and tricks and boy, did I pick up a few this last visit!  In case you are curious, I went with their Phyto-Aromatic Replumping Youth Facial with Rose. It’s 80 minutes of pure heaven.

Below I highlighted 4 of my favorite skincare tricks I learned from a Sisley-Paris Spa Skincare Expert!

Double Cleansing Is A Must

So my mom and I talk about this all the time. Any time I wash my face once, it never completely gets rid of all of the dirt and makeup. So we have both been using Nutragena face wipes either before or after cleansing. After speaking with my aesthetician, she highly recommended double cleansing. I started to incorporating this mostly at night and have noticed a huge difference! Sometimes I will still use a face wipe after the second time and there is hardly as much makeup on the towel. So I have to admit, I’m an official convert to double cleansing. P.s. never wash your face with hot water!

Treat Your Skin To A Mini-Facial with Ice Cubes

Ok, this was my favorite tip I learned during my visit. Do you ever wake up puffy? I hate this and mostly occurs after a few glasses of wine the night before. Any who, all you have to do is get 1-2 ice cubs and message your face until they start to melt. Not only will it give your face a healthy and dewy glow, the cubes will help to smooth out your complexion, ease wrinkles, fight acne and promote blood circulation that will help heel blemishes. For an added “ahh” to this spa-inspired treatment, try freezing your cubes with watermelon, lemon, or rose.

Winter Temperatures Call For Hydrating Face Masks

If you’re anything like me, these cold winter temperatures make your skin extra dry. As a result, us girls need hydrating face masks to combat the cold! Throughout my visit to the spa, my aesthetician applied numerous products based on my skin challenges. My favorite product that was a must-buy was the Black Rose Cream Mask. She recommended applying the mask before bed or even on flights.

Exfoliating Is Key For Clear Skin

Last but not least, exfoliating is KEY for clear skin. Not only is this true for your face but also for your body. My aesthetician recommended getting a natural scrub that you can apply before you shower and rinsing. I need to exfoliating back in to my skincare routine asap!

10 Products From Makeup For Ever

make-up-for-ever-water-blend-623

When it comes to my beauty routine, I have it nailed down. I’ve tried numerous brands at this point and know what works and doesn’t work well for my skin. However when it comes to makeup, I’m honestly not as good when it comes to the best of the best in products. I have certain products in my makeup bag that I’ve used for years. The new goodies only make their way in through word-of-mouth through my close girlfriends. So when one of my best friends started telling me about a few of the products she was using from Makeup For Ever, I had to try it out!

The top products she recommended to me include the HD high definition pressed powder ($36 dollars) and the Ultra HD Fluid Foundation ($43 dollars). From what I hear, this pressed powder is basically in every makeup artist’s makeup bag. It’s silky, lightweight and totally undetectable, helping seal in makeup all day. The Ultra HD foundation creates a naturally flawless complexion. A bit on the heavier side for me, I think I’ll use this for special events.

The other must-buy products I’ve come across from makeup forever is the mist & fix product ($14 dollars). This universal setting spray locks in makeup for over 12 hours and keeps it looking freshly applied. I personally love this product as it helps my makeup looking fresh even after a long day at work. Last but not least, the Makeup For Ever Aqua cream in #13 ($28 dollars) is a GEM. What I love most about the aqua cream is that it’s waterproof, crease-proof and helps you achieve a shimmery glow! Plus it’s super versatile, you can use it as a eye shadow, cheek highlighter or even on  your lips. Done and done. Shop the best of Makeup For Ever products below!

Stealing Kim Kardashian’s Favorite Beauty Products For Summer
1

Have you ever found yourself getting sucked into YouTube beauty or makeup tutorials? The other weekend when I was browsing online, I some how came across this Kim Kardashian video tutorial on strobing with her makeup artist Mario Dedivanovic. First off, do you think strobing is the new contouring?

Anywho, one thing lead to another and soon enough I had watched more Kim Kardashian make up tutorials than I’d like to admit. So given I did so much research on her make up/beauty routine, I thought it was only fair to share the wealth with you guys.

I’m a big, big fan of achieving a natural “glow” during summer so I actually thought some of the products that Mario Dedivanovic recommended during the various tutorials we’re great. I was also pleasantly surprised that I already had a good amount of these products in my make up bag (celebs, their just like us!). Here’s what I already own and what I’ll be purchasing (most likely during the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale!).

What I Own

Anastasia’s ‘Brow Wiz’ pencil and Contour Kit. I use both pretty much every day I wear make up. The contour kit is great (only $40 dollars) and lasts for weeks!

Benefit’s ‘Watt’s up!’ highlighter – hello, strobing! The video tutorial I linked above actually gave me some good tips on some new ways to use this highlighter.

Bobbi Brown Sheer Finish Loose Powder. This is a great powder to help set your make up for the day. I also love the little shimmer.

Peach blush is one of my favorites way to give my cheeks a little color during the summer. I’ve had this Nars hot sand/laguna blush and bronzer duo for years.

On My Radar

The number one product I want to add to my make up bag is this Marc Jacobs Twinkle Pop Eye Stick (in Honey Bunny). Of course the shade that is shared in the video tutorial is sold out on Sephora, but there are plenty of other color options to choose from.

Tom Ford nude lipsticks. Throughout numerous articles and videos, Kim shares how her and Mario like to stick to a “nude’ shade when it comes to lipsticks and more often than not, they actually mix different colors.

I think it’s well known by now that the Kardashian’s love Giorgio Armani’s Luminous Silk Foundation. I typically don’t love heavy foundations but definitely willing to try this for special occasions.

Charlotte Tillbury’s ‘Luxury Palette’ is right up my alley. I love mixing various shades of brown for nights out on the town.

Also from Charlotte Tillbury’s line, the ‘Lip Cheat’ Re-size and re-shape lip liner was also used in the video tutorial with Mario. I have to be honest, I never ever use lip liner but because this is so nude I’d be willing to test it out.
