Get The Look | A Preppy & Colorful Entryway
1

Last week I created a Follow Friday series on my Instagram stories where I highlighted five accounts that I currently find inspiring! Isn’t it fun to discover new accounts to spice up your feed? Don’t worry, if you missed it you can catch up & view on my story highlights! Within the roundup, I included a new-to-me account called Maine House Interiors founded by Australian interior designer Amy Spargo.

It’s no surprise that I’m a huge fan of how Amy incorporates blue and white throughout many of the spaces she designs. I particularly loved this preppy and colorful entry way vignette photographed above! Doesn’t it look like a space that belongs in a Palm Beach house or hotel?!

My favorite element in the design has to be the pair of custom ottomans featuring a Tigger Hall fabric. If you love adding custom elements to your home, I highly recommend taking a peek at Etsy shop Liven Up Design! They can easily re-create these ottomans for you either using fabric they have in-house or with a fabric you ship directly to them!

I re-created the look below with a more muted palette but still using blue and white as the main color combination. I found a similar wallpaper as the one photographed above on Wayfair called “Floral Teahouse” wallpaper but I personally loved this blue and white botanical wallpaper a little more (also from Wayfair!). This classic white mirror would pair nicely with just about any entryway table or console. And I love how this table lamp easily compliments the wallpaper. Plus, it’s only $113 dollars!

Last but not least, if you’re in the market for natural fiber rugs, be sure to take a look at Pottery Barn’s selection! They have a wide variety to choose from + many are on sale at the moment. The rug I included in the roundup is the Clayton Natural Fiber Rug.

A Preppy Holiday Home Tour by Pencil Paper & Co.
0

If there’s one design firm I constantly stay up-to-date with on social media, it’s Pencil Paper & Co. Everything they do is magic! The Nashville design duo’s holiday home tour was resurfaced on Pinterest the other day so I had to share.

What I love most about this holiday home tour is that they let their authentic style take the lead with their holiday decor. Instead of opting for traditional green and red, the Sohr’s use a mix of modern prints with traditional colors throughout their entry way, breakfast nook and more.

If there’s one thing I learned from this home tour is that one can never incorporate too much greenery. The boxwood garland and wreaths add a whimsical holiday touch throughout each and every room. Below I’ve rounded up a few products to help you get the look & you can see the full home tour on Southern Living!

5 Interior Designers To Follow On Instagram
1

marie-flanigan-texas-before-after-12

Summer has flown by in the blink of an eye. With how much traveling I do from May to September, it’s so hard to stay inspired! Thank goodness for Instagram, am I right?

What I love most about Instagram is that it always helps with my creative juices. Even if I haven’t blogged in a week or two, I love browsing content (specifically interiors) that I can save, come back to and post later. The new save feature is really my favorite thing on Instagram right now!

Today I wanted to share 5 of my favorite interior designers that I follow on Instagram. Remember this post where I shared my top 10 favorite interior designers on Pinterest? Well I love doing these roundups in the hopes I can help inspire you, too. Some of these design stars you might already know but some are new-to-me and a little under the radar! Anyways, I love them all for different reasons so let’s get to it- shall we?

Marie Flanigan Interiors

I recently discovered Marie Flanigan’s instagram the other day and got lost in her beautiful feed. Marie’s constant use of bright wants, classic neutrals and timeless design elements makes her a must-follow on Instagram in my opinion!

 Mark D. Sikes

Omg, Mark D. Sikes. My bestie who doesn’t even know he’s my bestie. I got invited to a One Kings Lane party this summer in the Hamptons where Mark was hosting and I was so so sad I couldn’t attend. I’m still waiting for the day I can meet him! His love for blue and white, stripes, manicured gardens, big white houses and classic glamour makes him a favorite. Every space he touches inspires me to be more bold with my design decisions. P.s. have you see the Coastal Living Show House he designed in Newport, Rhode Island?! I will share another blog post this week giving you a deeper tour but if you’re not following Mark already, please do. You will thank me later.

Studio McGee

Ok, ok, I know you know that I love Studio McGee. Shae is always inspiring me with her spaces! With the launch of her new store McGee & Co., now it’s easier than ever to add the Studio McGee touch to your home. Her blog is also bookmarked in my favorites. I promise following Studio McGee will not disappoint your Instagram feed.

Leanne Ford Interiors

Leanne is another new-to-me interior designer who is a must-follow on Instagram. Her use of natural woods, brown leather and bright white materials makes her Instagram one to watch.

Nancy Serafini Interiors

Ok, how cute is Nancy Serafini?! She messaged me on Instagram the other day saying how she discovered my blog post on her Nantucket home and was thrilled to be discovered by someone new! Her note was so sweet that I of course had to include her in my round up of 5 interior designers to follow on Instagram. Although she doesn’t have the largest following (yet), Nancy has been decorating for over 40 years and I’m sure has so much knowledge she can share with us all! Take a peek at her portfolio here.

Weekend Notes

The @serenaandlily beach market this year..

Good morning! How was your 4th of July? Did you love having a short work week as much as I did? Although Wednesday felt like a Monday, I’m so happy today is Friday. Luckily we will be staying put in the city this weekend. On the agenda includes visiting the Met and having afternoon tea at The Plaza. Spending time at The Plaza is actually one of my all-time favorite activities to do here in New York. So if you’re planning a trip soon or over the holidays, I highly recommend adding The Plaza to your itinerary.

Anywho! Today I’ve rounded up a few of my favorite links from around the web this week. There are so many great sales happening right now. It really feels like everyone is having their end-of-summer sale already. Psst – You do not want to miss the Club Monaco sale right now. Have a great weekend, everyone. Xo. Lauren

Links I Loved

  • In case you missed it – I would LOVE if you could vote for me in the Annie Selke rug design competition. All you have to do is “like” this photo! THANK YOU! – Annie Selke
  • One of my favorite bedding lines Matouk partnered with One Kings Lane on a new collection and it’s pretty amazing. – One Kings Lane
  • I wish I could be as organized as Gwyneth! – Arch Digest

Sales & Shopping

  • If you’re in the market for nautical stationary, this collection from The Maryn should be right up your alley.
  • I’m pretty smitten with this wallpaper from Serena and Lily that I spotted at their beach market in Wainscott this past weekend.
  • J.Crew is offering an additional 40% off swim styles. I picked up this ruffle swimsuit last week for the 4th! I love it because you can wear it up or as an off-the-shoulder top.
  • How cute is this little Mongolian Lamb Stool from West Elm? This versatile piece would look great in a bedroom, bathroom or living room!
  • The perfect mirror for a powder room or an entry way + plus it’s under $300 dollars.
  • Lands End is having 30% off site wide – how cute is this tote bag for summer? Plus it’s only $39.99.

In Case You Missed It
