0

Our 2019 Holiday Gift Guide Series continues today with holiday gifts for the bride-to-be!

In case you’re just tuning in, we’ve rounded up the top gifts for her, for him, for the holiday plaid lover, for the holiday hostess, monogrammed gift ideas & holiday gifts for the grandmillennial! So many great gift ideas for just about anyone on your list.

Today we’re focused on the future bride-to-be! I personally would LOVE to receive any one of these items for our wedding next June.

So many of these holiday gift ideas are worth noting:

  • This Julia B. custom bridal handmade hanky is at the top of my list — hint, hint, Mom!! I absolutely love the french blue scalloped trim paired with the monogram and wedding date.
  • My girlfriends rave about the swimsuit brand Marysia which would make for a great gift for the bachelorette party or honeymoon!
  • A Mrs. Slip Sleep Mask & a white Lele Sadoughi headband would be easy stocking stuffers.
  • Ok, if you have the budget & this may be waaaaay over-the-top, but I think this Oscar de la Renta “Just Married” jean jacket is just so cute and would be great to wear on a honeymoon.
  • My best friends got me the Mrs. Box right after we got engaged & would also make for a great stocking stuffer!
  • La Perla has the most beautiful silk robes.
  • Last but not least, if your bride is looking for a simple clutch to use throughout her various wedding festivities, you can’t go wrong with a white beaded clutch from Santi or an Edie Parker clutch!

Be sure to shop all of my bride-to-be holiday gifts below! And I’m also including links to my previous years gift guides many of which are still relevant this holiday season. 🙂

Happy Shopping! Xo. Lauren

Where To Stay, Eat & Shop in Paris
1

Taking a quick break from all of the holiday content to finally share where we stayed, ate and shopped in Paris last month! This was my 5th trip to Paris and I don’t think I’ve ever really shared my favorite spots in the city of lights. Paris is one of those cities where you don’t need a full itinerary. It’s such a great walking city that you can easily explore all of the charming neighborhoods on foot discovering amazing french bistros, bakeries, shops and main attractions as you go.

We only had three days in Paris this trip but we truly made the most of our time hitting some old favorites while also making time for new shops and restaurants.

Where To Stay In Paris

There are so many amazing hotels in Paris it’s truly such a hard decision whenever we’re planning a trip.

I’ve stayed at Hotel Mayfair which is  located in the 1st – very close to the Louvre, amazing shopping and great restaurants. I think it’s important to note that it’s located on a quaint and quiet street so it doesn’t feel overwhelming by any means. I stayed here a few years ago when one of my best girlfriends got married in Paris. It’s such a charming hotel with great service. We would have stayed here again but they were sold out one of the nights we were in town!

I’ve also worked with Haven in Paris in the past and loved both of our rental apartment experiences, too! I loved this apartment from 2014.

This time around, however, we knew we wanted to stay in a hotel in our favorite neighborhood of Saint Germain. Insert — Hotel De’La Abbey.

You guys — we LOVED our stay at Hotel De’La Abbey. My girlfriend Nan recommended the hotel from a previous trip she had taken for work. I knew it was going to be good based on her recommendation but I didn’t realize how much we were absolutely going to love it.

The only way I can describe it is that it feels like a home away from home. It’s located on a very quiet street & sits back from the road a bit so you don’t even know it’s there. The interiors are everything you would want from a small, french hotel & the service was amazing. Throughout our entire stay we couldn’t stop talking about how much we were loving it. Next trip we are going to upgrade the level of room and stay for longer.

If you’re looking to splurge on a hotel during your next trip — the Four Seasons George V & The Ritz are both amazing properties worth booking.

Where To Eat In Paris

A few of our favorite restaurants in Paris:

  • Chez Georges – An absolute MUST visit. Call ahead to make a reservation and be sure to order the steak frites with the mustard bernaise sauce.
  • Le Hibou – Always our first stop for lunch when we arrive in Paris. Order the caesar salad with chicken.
  • Cafe de Flore – Great for lunch or dinner. Grab a table outside even if it’s cold out – they have heat warmers & it makes for fun people watching.
  • Brasserie Lipp – Another delicious french bistro in Saint Germain.
  • Le Bonaparte – Surprise, another french bistro perfect for before or after dinner drinks outside.
  • Hotel Costes – One of our favorite spots for lunch when we’re shopping in the 1st. It’s a bit hidden so google the address.
  • Ralphs – An oldie but a goodie. Call ahead to make a reservation.
  • Hemmingway Bar – Quite touristy but fun to visit for their famous dirty martini. We recommend arriving right at 6 when doors open or you’re likely to wait for a table.
  • Chez Julian – We ate here last trip and loved it.

Other restaurants that are still on our must-try list:

Where To Shop In Paris

There are so many great shops in Paris but a few of my favorite highlights from this trip include:

  • Michelle Aragon – This store is a hidden gem. Michelle doesn’t have a website or email address but you can seriously spend a good amount of time browsing her provencal linens, antique oyster plates and more.
  • Gien – Located close to Michelle Araon, I loved visiting Gien for the first time.
  • Antoinette Poisson
  • Merci
  • Diptyque – Visit the original Diptyque store in Saint Germain and pick up one of your favorite scents!
  • Shopping Neighborhoods: Saint Germain, Le Marais & Place Vendom

Your Recommendations

I’m constantly adding to my saved places on my Google Maps for Paris and I’d love to hear any recommendations you guys have on where to stay, eat or shop! Feel free to drop a comment below or send me a DM on Instagram! Bonjour. Xo.

2019 Gift Guide Series: For The Grandmillennial
0

So I’ve been loooooving all of the chatter on Instagram around grandmillennial style!! If you’re not sure what the term grandmillennial means, take a peek at House Beautiful’s article “The Rise of Grandmillennial Style.” I also loved reading One King’s Lane blog post on the trend — which I completely agree with Clary Bosbyshell and don’t think it’s a trend at all! If you like to decorate with rattan, blue and white, scalloped accents or topiaries, you might just be a granmillennial yourself!

Today I’ve put together some of my favorite pieces from the One Kings Lane feature that would be sure to please any grandmillennial on your list!

I know I’ve blogged about Juliska 100x before but you really can’t go wrong with starting your own collection or gifting Juliska’s Country Estate pieces. I also fell in love with this blue and white compote, this pillow completed with blue and white tassels, and these linen guest towels

If you’re not sure whether or not you’re a grandmillennial, House Beautiful included their very own quiz at the bottom of this article to help you figure it out! 🙂 #grannychicforever

P.s. If you’re just tuning in, be sure to check out all of my previous gift guides from 2019! I also linked from previous years as well since many of the products are still relevant.

Hostess Gift Ideas

We’re moving right along through our 2019 gift guide series!! Today’s gift guide is dedicated to the holiday hostess.  Whether you need a small gift for a good friend or an acquaintance this holiday season, below are some of the best holiday hostess gift ideas you could easily wrap in cellophane, tie a bow around & voi-la! You will have a great hostess gift wrapped and ready to-go in no time. A few of my personal favorites for the hostess include:

  • This white marble wine holder — I swear I use this every time we have friends over or I’ll style it with a candle.
  • I love this beautiful silver coaster set
  • A diptqyue candle is always a good idea.
  • And I learned this from my mom — buy holiday hand soaps/lotion in bulk before the holiday season so you always have a little something to bring if you’re in a pinch.

What are some of your favorite holiday hostess gift ideas? See more from my 2019 Gift Guide Series & beyond down below! Xo. Lauren
