If today’s holiday gift guide isn’t me, I don’t know what is! I lovedddd putting this holiday gift guide together for obvious reasons: I’m obsessed with stripes – no matter what the season. And a gift I received rightfully so from my mother. So without further a do, today I’ve rounded up the TOP holiday gifts for the stripe enthusiast in your life!
Welcome to the One Room Challenge — the final reveal!
It’s been a busy six weeks but I’m so happy with how everything came together in my bedroom. In case you are just tuning in, myself and these interior design enthusiasts committed to designing a room in just six weeks. You can catch up on weeks one through five right here.
When I first started thinking about my re-design, I knew I wanted my bedroom to capture my evolving east coast style. I wanted to incorporate blue and white with a mix of Montauk inspired prints.
The first challenge I faced was deciding on a paint color — I ultimately went with BEHR’s blue me away and couldn’t be happier with the color! The blue is a super light shade but can also look darker at different points throughout the day based on the light. I would highly recommend this paint color if you’re looking for a light sea blue hue!
The next task on my list was finding the perfect (small) white desk that could double as my nightstand. After living in my apartment for 2 years without having a place to work (besides my couch), I thought it was time I treated myself to an appropriate work area!! I opted for West Elm’s Mini Mid-Century Desk which ended up fitting the exact dimensions between my bed and the wall. A huge win for a tiny space!
One of my absolute favorite moments throughout the one room challenge was working with the team over at Gray Malin! A BIG thank you to Gray and team for my Maroubra Swimmers piece.
I’ve been a fan of Gray’s work for years so I knew there wasn’t anyone else I wanted to work with for the statement piece above my bed. I debated between his La Dolce Vita series and A La Plage series for WEEKS. I opted for the Maroubra Swimmers piece because I felt like it hasn’t been overdone and I will be able to use this piece in future apartments/homes for years to come.
Now let’s talk bedding! I absolutely love Pottery Barn’s navy and white frame bedding. This bedding comes in a wide variety of colors and sizes to fit any sized bed. To help personalize my space even further, I worked with Sue over at the Zhush on my monogrammed pillows! I incorporated a second set of navy and white striped pillows from Society Social that helped me create a balanced yet layered look. The sheets are Brooklyn & Bond which you can pick up at Target!
Minted helped me create the ultimate seaside gallery wall!
I moved my Ikea Kallax Bookshelf which was where my desk currently is located and moved it to a different corner of my room. It is now being put to use as my jewelry stand. There’s nothing prettier than displaying all of your baubles in one place! Another trick that is always stylish is using Diptqyue vases as a brush holder. The gold mirrored tray you can find at World Market and is only $29.99.
Last but not least, I had the best experience working with the team over at the Shade Store. I opted for their Standard Woven Wood Shade in Seaview-6. Adding this custom shade really helped me achieve the Hampton’s style that I adore right here in the city!

A few weeks back, one of my favorite blogger friends Julia of Lemon Stripes, hosted a super fun dinner out in Greenwich, CT with J.McLaughlin. We were able to preview and shop J.McLaughlin’s new fall pieces and let’s just say.. I wanted EVERYTHING.
I love J.McLaughlin for their classic, preppy pieces that you can wear from season to season. I picked out two pieces that I knew would be on major repeat this fall in New York. Insert this cashmere poncho and their harrow wrap cape. Given how mild the weather has been here in New York, these items have been perfect for both work and play. Other items I have on my wish list? This fur poncho (perfect for the upcoming holiday party season). This Pence Cashmere poncho. This Nika Reversable Fur Vest – how pretty? And this classic navy vest – great for weekend wear. You can shop more of my favorite pieces for fall with J.McLaughlin below! Xo. Lauren
