Helloooo! And Happy Saturday, my friends. My mom is arriving today for all of the fun wedding planning things — dress shopping at Monique Lhullier on the Upper East Side & A Little Something White in Connecticut, we’re taking a peek at our venue (we officially booked) and we’ll most likely look at a few different hotel options. I’ll do a whole wedding blog post soon, I promise!

In the meantime, there are so many good links from around the web this week that I wanted to share!

  • Does anyone else have trouble getting dressed during this in-between weather? I’ve been on the hunt for sweaters that can easily take me from these cooler temps to warmer spring days. Ralph Lauren & Tommy Hilfiger both have a ton of super cute, preppy options at the moment! I recently bought this blue and white striped sweater from TH and I have my eye on this sail flag sweater from RL! Last but not least I have my eye on so many La Ligne striped sweaters.
  • Speaking of spring, I’ve been stocking up on cropped, wide legged jeans for spring – Agolde from Shopbop, Madewell, and Rebecca Taylor have really cute options at the moment!
  • I’ve also stocked up a few new pairs of Castaner wedges — how cute are these?! And I’ve also been seriously loving the new-to-me-brand Kaanas. The basket weave loafers I wanted sold out but these slides would do just the trick!
  • J.Crew is currently having 50% off all new sale items – yes, please!

Project Greenwich Village Living Room | Moodboard
0

Studio-McGee-Hutch

Hellooo, friends! And happy sunday. It’s been a minute since I last posted an apartment update for our current Greenwich Village Project. Since getting engaged a few months ago, wedding planning has since taken over so our apartment projects have stalled a bit! However, we’ve been hosting friends over for dinner more recently so I’m on a mission to get a chandelier for above our dinning table a new buffet / sideboard for our living room.

If you take a peek at this blog post, you’ll see we have two large walls on either side of the fireplace. Right now my focus is the right side of the fireplace which currently has my fiance’s old media console which is way too low for the space with two lamps and too many coffee table books to count on top. I would love to find a buffet that fits the space much better and to also help with storage.

SO today I’m sharing two mood boards I created to hopefully help us decide.

The first buffet I found is from Restoration Hardware which matches our dinning table. So if we’re ever looking to sell these pieces, we could essentially sell as a set. The second buffet I found is from Pottery Barn which has a much better price point and I also love the look. Hopefully we’ll also be getting artwork from McGee & Co and I also found these white table lamps from Ballard Designs that we could style on top.

Help — Which buffet is your favorite?!

Exterior Inspiration — The Father Of The Bride House

Father-of-the-Bride-House-California

I have loved Nancy Meyers films for what feels like a lifetime — Something’s Gotta Give, Father of the Bride, The Holiday, It’s Complicated, The Parent Trap — you name it!! I grew up with so many of these films, I can easily watch all of them on repeat.

Most recently, I watched Father of the Bride & Father of the Bride 2 now that we’re in wedding planning mode and it was so fun!! I forgot how much I LOVE both of these films. What I’ve realized over time is that Nancy Meyers does an amazing job creating spaces that feel like home and rooms that you simply want to move right in. It’s like these spaces play their own starring roles in her movies!! The living room in Father of the Bride, the dinning room in Something’s Gotta Give and the little cottage in London from The Holiday are all spaces that are so inviting, cozy & warm. And the exteriors are just as good!

Since watching these films, I’ve been re-inspired and have been devouring similar Father of the Bride houses and big white houses in general on Instagram & Pinterest. Some of my favorite Instagram accounts to follow include the Fox Group, Patrick Ahern Architect, and Landschute Architecture. Today I rounded up a few big, white dreamy homes!

What are some of your favorite Nancy Meyers films? Xo. Lauren

Get The Look | A Preppy & Colorful Entryway
1

Screen Shot 2019-01-20 at 10.03.32 AM

Last week I created a Follow Friday series on my Instagram stories where I highlighted five accounts that I currently find inspiring! Isn’t it fun to discover new accounts to spice up your feed? Don’t worry, if you missed it you can catch up & view on my story highlights! Within the roundup, I included a new-to-me account called Maine House Interiors founded by Australian interior designer Amy Spargo.

It’s no surprise that I’m a huge fan of how Amy incorporates blue and white throughout many of the spaces she designs. I particularly loved this preppy and colorful entry way vignette photographed above! Doesn’t it look like a space that belongs in a Palm Beach house or hotel?!

My favorite element in the design has to be the pair of custom ottomans featuring a Tigger Hall fabric. If you love adding custom elements to your home, I highly recommend taking a peek at Etsy shop Liven Up Design! They can easily re-create these ottomans for you either using fabric they have in-house or with a fabric you ship directly to them!

I re-created the look below with a more muted palette but still using blue and white as the main color combination. I found a similar wallpaper as the one photographed above on Wayfair called “Floral Teahouse” wallpaper but I personally loved this blue and white botanical wallpaper a little more (also from Wayfair!). This classic white mirror would pair nicely with just about any entryway table or console. And I love how this table lamp easily compliments the wallpaper. Plus, it’s only $113 dollars!

Last but not least, if you’re in the market for natural fiber rugs, be sure to take a look at Pottery Barn’s selection! They have a wide variety to choose from + many are on sale at the moment. The rug I included in the roundup is the Clayton Natural Fiber Rug.
