I might be late to the game on this but I recently discovered Opalhouse, a new boho-inspired line introduced earlier this year at Target. And it’s v. cute!
What I love most about the line is their wide variety of wicker baskets & trays at great price points. Insert this water hyacinth basket for $14.99! Or this natural fringe basket for just $30 dollars – yes, please! Also love the tray version which you could easily style on any coffee table or dresser.
I’m always on the lookout for large wicker baskets to hold blankets & pillows around our apartment. Of course I love the ones at Pottery Barn but I’m not interested in spending $200 on them at the moment so Opalhouse seems like a great solution! I rounded up a few of my favorite pieces from the line below.

I recently discovered The Atelier Collection, a curated selection of fine vintage art for your home! I’m always on the hunt for beautiful vintage oil paintings, specifically sail boat or ship oil paintings, and they are actually a bit challenging to find! My mom has found countless vintage oil paintings at Flea Markets for prices that are unheard of here in New York. Living in a market where so many of the antique stores or flea markets have inflated pricing makes it quite challenging to find these unique pieces. So whenever I find an online or Etsy shop that has a well, curated selection with somewhat normal prices, I have to shout it from the rooftop!
Insert The Atelier Collection. I discovered this shop after browsing my Sweet Shady Lane’s blog posts. I absolutely loved the sail boat paintings Heather’s incorporated throughout her 1937 lake home and found out that The Atelier Collection is owned by one of her best friends! There’s nothing quite as classic than decorating with plaid. Whether it be a beautiful tartan or a simple buffalo check, if there’s one thing I learned from my mom in regards to how to decorate for the holidays it’s that one must always decorate with plaid.
I’ve only just scratched the surface on my plaid collection compared to my mom but you better believe I’m on a mission! Last year my mom gave me not one, but TWO Pendleton plaid blankets for Christmas. A beautiful red and green tartan plaid (similar) and a classic blue, gray and green plaid blanket (similar) — both are currently on display throughout my apartment.
One of my favorite plaid purchases to-date has to be this beautiful green wool plaid blanket produced in one of the oldest Scottish Mills I picked up at a boutique in Lenox, MA when I visited Annie Selke’s 33 Main last year called Mackimmie Co. I don’t think they have an online shop but if you message the owner on Instagram, she’s more than happy to place an order over the internet and ship directly — which is exactly what I’m going to do this year!
If you’re looking to shop online directly, Williams-Sonoma in my opinion has the best collection of plaid throws and pillows this year. My number one pick has to be this Jacquard Cashmere Throw. And if there is one plaid item on my wish list, it would have to be this Ralph Lauren Black Watch Throw Pillow.
