Get The Look: A BoHo Chic Bedroom
1

Room-And-Board-Canopy-BedSource: 100 Layer Cake

I love a good boho chic bedroom, don’t you? I came across this photo on 100 Layer Cake and thought this room would be perfect to recreate the look. I had a canopy bed in high school and slowly but surely, I’m beginning to love canopy beds again. This particular canopy is from Room and Board and I’ve highlighted a few more of my favorites from One Kings Lane below.

For you to recreate this look it really comes down to three main elements: natural wood pieces (insert a side table, bench or bed), a beach scene photograph as a main focal point, and pops of color (a navy rug and pink throw). Other small details include natural plants placed throughout the room and coffee table books, of course! So what do you think..are you a fan of canopy beds?

Have a great Wednesday, my friends!

If there’s one look I’m loving, it’s sheepskin rugs. Decorating with sheepskin rugs I’ve learned is one of the easiest ways to provide a high-end look to any room. Drape a sheepskin rug over a chair, bench or layer it on top of another rug for an instant chic and perfectly layered look.

When I re-designed my bedroom for the One Room Challenge, I knew I wanted to incorporate a sheepskin rug somewhere throughout my bedroom. After searching high and low for the perfect sheepskin rug, I decided on a “girl on a budget” option from Target which you can pick up for just $40 dollars! So far I’ve layered it on top of my Dash and Albert rug, on top AND below my custom Liven Up Design x-bench and over my Hans Wagner Wishbone Chair. What I love most about sheepskin rugs is how versatile they are! If I had more room for sheepskin rugs, I would be tossing them around my apartment like confetti!

Other sheepskin rugs on my radar include: this one from Pottery Barn. I love how big and cozy this natural sheepskin rug from One Kings Lane looks. And last but not least this faux sheepskin rug from Wayfair. You can shop all of my current favs below!!

Get The Look: A Modern Entryway
2

Get-The-Look-A-Chic-Entryway

I have been a fan of Amber Interiors for quite some time. What I love most about her work is that you can tell the spaces she has designed without even clicking on a link to find the source or looking at the watermark on the photo. This is probably one of the most important things I’ve learned about blogging and what they teach at all the blogger conferences… “Create a signature look” so people can tie the image back to your brand. Given her modern, California-cool aesthetic combined with globally inspired pieces, for me at least, it’s quite easy to identify her work.

I came across the above entry-way while working on another post for this week and thought it’d be super easy to re-create the look for less. My favorite piece in this entryway is the modern mid-century console table from West Elm that can easily be used in multiple rooms within a home. Of course, one can never have too many coffee table books (try Elements of Style or Made to Order). And incorporating natural wood elements is one of the easiest ways to achieve that “california-cool” aesthetic. Happy Sunday, loves! Xo. Lauren

Get The Look: A Beachside Boho Breakfast Nook

Get-The-Look-Breakfast-Nook

I love seeing beachside homes incorporate natural wood. What I love even more is when Montauk inspired prints are added to the mix! I recently came across this beachside boho breakfast nook and thought it would be fun to recreate the  look for less. You can create this entire nook for under $1,300 dollars or less if you find different pillows and art (hello, Home Goods!).

My favorite design element in this room has to be the white tulip table which I’m sure you’ve seen all over the web. Ikea makes a very popular version for only $179 dollars. What I love most about the classic tulip table is that it can work throughout numerous rooms within your home. Try mixing your tulip table with eames style chairs as seen in the room above or even wishbone dinning chairs for an eclectic mix.

Would you recreate this look in your home? Xo. Lauren
