Fall Home Decor
1

Fall is officially in the air here in New York and we couldn’t be more excited —  this time of year is always my favorite! Since we’ve been hunkered down at home these past few months, it makes me want to cozy up even more this fall! In general I like to keep our fall home decor palette pretty neutral – lot’s of whites, natural textures and candles.

A few fall home decor items I have on my radar include —

Sabre flatware — dying to invest in a new set this fall.

My love for Juliska continues — I just picked up some more of there berry and thread dinnerware & coffee mugs.

McGee and Co always has a beautiful selection of pillows and throws that would compliment just about any fall decor palette. P.s. have you seen their new collection for Target?! Definitely worth a look or a visit to your local Target.

Simon Pearce hurricanes are also on my fall wish list. We’re hoping to maybe make a trip up to Vermont this fall and visit the flagship location! I love how Amanda from Fashionable Hostess styled them here.

Last but not least, if you’re in the decorating mood pop on over to The Avenue, Fete Home and JSH Home Essentials  to take a peek at their various collections!! So good.

Fall Wishlist
0

September in New York is simply the best. We’ve had pretty amazing weather these past two weekends with cooler temperatures setting in which makes me so excited to bring out my fall layers.

Each fall I like to make a wish list of staples I’d like to add to my wardrobe. Number one one my list this year has to be a new leather jacket. I’ve worn the same one for about 7-8 years now so I think it’s about time I invest in a new one!

All of my girlfriends rave about IRO leather jackets noting that the leather is just so soft and buttery. I’ve also heard great reviews on Mackage leather jackets. Outside of a new leather jacket, I’m constantly on the hunt for new sweaters, jeans and booties every fall.

I mentioned this the other week but I recently picked up a ton of J.Crew turtle necks to wear to work this season including their perfect fit turtleneck in camel and black as well as their tissue turtleneck in leopard and floral! They are so cute and fit really well — I personally like to layer with blazers, leather jackets or cardigan sweaters.

Also, I might be late to the game but I just picked up my first pair of Birdies slippers from Nordstrom to wear to work and I cannot believe I haven’t tried them yet!! They are so comfortable and soft I think I might live in them the next few months. I wear an 8.5 and they were a little tight on my foot so I recommend sizing up.

What do you have on your fall wish list this year? Happy Shopping! Xo. Lauren

Project Greenwich Village: Apartment Updates with Raymour & Flanigan
0

We’ve been decorating like crazy around here! Today I’m so excited to share some apartment updates with Raymour and Flanigan. If you’ve been following my little corner of the web, you may remember when we moved in to our apartment last January. Slowly but surely we’ve been making updates as we go! When the team over at Raymour and Flanigan reached out I was thrilled to partner as it’s really helped us finish major spaces in our apartment with some beautiful pieces!

The Entry Way

The entryway space has been an area I’ve been wanting to tackle since the day we moved in. For quite some time we were using make shift furniture like my finance’s old desk or a bar cart to fill the space. When shopping at Raymour and Flanigan, I instantly fell in love with their Adrian Chest and knew it would complement the space perfectly! There’s something so classic about a three drawer chest and what I love most about this piece is that the drawers are deep giving us additional storage. A 3-drawer chest that is both stylish and functional is an absolute must when living in New York City! You an shop the Adrian Chest right here and it’s currently on sale!

The Living Room

Another major space in our apartment that has been needing some love is the wall left of our fireplace. Similar to the entryway space, we knew we wanted to find a beautiful side board that could house a lot of our tabletop pieces which would open up a lot of space in our kitchen cabinets.

When I stopped by the Raymour and Flanigan in Flatiron, the manager was so helpful in helping me find a piece that would fit the 74″ we have between the hallway and start of the fireplace. Together we found the Cintra Sideboard online which comes in at 71″ giving us a few inches on either side! The sideboard comes in a reclaimed pallet wood and features ample storage with a simple and naturally distressed finish. I now store a bunch of glassware, table linens, candles & vases within the cabinet again — giving us so much additional storage that we didn’t have before and now can’t live without!!

The Dinning Room

Last but not least, we also finished our dinning room table by adding two of Raymour and Flanigan’s Aberdeen Parsons Dinning Chairs! Adding two additional dinning chairs just lets us host more friends over for dinner which is always so fun. What I love most about the Parsons dinning chairs is that they come in a relaxed white linen which mixes well with our Louis fabric dinning chairs.

If you live in the tai-state area, be sure to visit your local Raymour and Flanagan in-stores or take a peek at their selection online! Their Cyber Day sale includes major savings both in-stores and online! And p.s. one major benefit of shopping at Raymour and Flanigan is that they deliver directly to your door within as short of 2 days of placing your order and set it up exactly where you need in your home.

**Thank you to Raymour and Flanigan for sponsoring this post.

Brb, Moving into the Serena and Lily Westport, Connecticut Location

Processed with VSCO with s1 preset

The other weekend I visited the Serena and Lily Westport, Connecticut location for the very first time and let’s just say, I’d be more than happy to move right in!

Housed in a stunning historic home in the heart of Westport, the three story flagship is complete with living room spaces, a dinning room/kitchen space as well as a fully designed attic showcasing an additional dinning room vignette, plush beds, and sitting rooms — no detail was left behind! We got so excited about the attic, my cousin Holly pitched the idea about renovating her attic to her husband as soon as we got home. Still hoping he comes around to this idea!

What I loved most about visiting the shop was seeing so many of the items I have on my official Serena and Lily wish list in real life to get a sense of what we should purchase next! Right now I’d love to pick up this Cyprus Bone Inlay mirror for our bedroom or this little lamp with the rattan lamp shade. Last but not least, we’re always in the market for new Serena and Lily sheets as they are our favorite to sleep in to-date. P.s. incase you missed it, take a peek at my fall bedding refresh I did with Serena and Lily last year!

Below are a few snaps I took during our visit as well as a complete round up of my must-haves! You can shop each piece by clicking on the plus sign next to each product! Do you have a never-ending Serena and Lily wish list, too? 🙂 Xo. Lauren
