Blogger Lauren Nelson shares her Layette Favorites for baby

I can’t believe we’re so close to Baby C’s arrival! While we’ve been patiently waiting these past few weeks, I’ve been packing and repacking our hospital bags and of course shopping for the cutest layette pieces. Luckily a lot of my close friends have pointed me in the right direction on where to shop for newborn clothes. So today I’m rounding up my favorites that I’ve bought for Baby C and would love to hear if you have any newborn must-haves!

Layette Favorites

  • Ralph Lauren Cashmere Baby Blanket – This baby blanket was at the top of my list when we registered! It’s the perfect keepsake as you can get the baby’s initials monogramed and it also pairs perfectly with the cutest RL cashmere hat and booties.
  • Estelle Milano or any custom name boudoir baby pillow – I love how a custom boudoir pillow with the baby’s name or initials can enhance any little crib or bassinet.
  • G.H.Hurt & Son Shawl – A royal family favorite! Shop classic baby shawls at great prices for special occasions.
  • Feltman Brothers Gowns – I have a feeling Feltman Brothers is going to continue to be one of my go-to brands for baby C! I bought two little gowns to start that she’ll wear during our newborn photo shoot in a few weeks!
  • Pixie and Lily, Kissy Kissy, Little English and Nella Pima are all new-to-me brands I discovered and you can easily shop in one place on Jo Jo Mommy, a children’s clothing store based in Dallas, Texas. I first discovered Jo Jo Mommy when a few of my favorite bloggers linked to the store on Instagram. I love their curated selection and shipping is quick to New York!

New Coffee Table Books To Add To Your Collection
0

I’ve been helping one of best friends style her new bookcases in her living room and my first question was do you have any coffee table books?! One of my favorite tips to style just about any piece of furniture (consoles, end tables, night stands, coffee tables, open shelving, you name it) is to decorate with coffee table books. I started my collection over 7 years ago and I’m so happy I did. If you’re having trouble getting started, I recommend searching for coffee table books that align with your interests whether it be gardening, entertaining, fashion, traveling, etc.

In recent weeks, there have been several new book releases that I’m personally so excited about. Insert Mark D. Sikes’ “More Beautiful” — the interiors are absolutely stunning! Give me all of the blue and white, please. Designing History by Michael S. Smith is another one of my recent purchases that I couldn’t recommend more. Michael was tasked with decorating the Obama White House and it’s so interesting to learn the details that go in to decorating for a new White House administration. If you are you into podcasts, you can catch Michael on Paloma Contreras’ new podcast, The Style Files.

Other notable new and notable releases include James Farmer’s Arriving Home and Aerin Lauder’s Entertaining Beautifully. If you have any coffee table book recommendations I’d love to hear them!! 🙂 Xo. Lauren

Blue and White China and Everyday Dishes
0

Royal-Copenhagen-Blue-And-White-China

Because I’m feeling inspired this week and love everything blue and white, today I’m sharing my top picks when it comes to blue and white everyday dishes & china.

Since we’ve started creating our registries, I’ve been scouring the web to see which everyday dishes and china we should include! Of course we will be registering for a new set of classic white dishes but I would also love to get a set of blue and white – either in an everyday version or for our china.

I recently came across the blue elements setting from Royal Copenhagen and I have to admit, this china set might be a front runner! The blue fluted setting is always just as beautiful. In terms of everyday dishes I’m leaning toward this Juliska set but also love this Pottery Barn Puebla Place Setting!

Are you fan of blue and white china and everyday dishes? Xo. Lauren
