Gray Malin is one of my all time favorite photographers. His aerial bird’s eye view of the world’s best beaches have made his work a staple in homes across the country. I am such a fan of his work that I knew I had to have one of his pieces for my One Room Challenge! You can see the piece I ended up choosing for the challenge right here. Anywho, I came across Gray Malin’s home tour today and wanted to share with you guys.

What I love most about Gray’s home is that hes mastered the essence of West Palm Beach. With the use of a bold palm tree print in the bedroom, classic orange and white umbrellas on the patio, and touches of navy throughout the entire space, I am dying for an invite to his next dinner party! Also, can we please talk about his custom blue border roman shades for a second? These are so right up my alley…classic decor with a side of prep. Yes, please!

Gray Malin’s kitchen also incorporates one of my favorite kitchen trends of the moment: white kitchen cabinets on top mixed with navy kitchen cabinets on the bottom. I have actually been meaning to do a whole blog post on this trend as I’ve been seeing it pop up more and more as of late!

Be sure to get the look below and shop a few classic Gray Malin pieces below! Happy Shopping. Xo. Lauren

One Room Challenge: Week Four
11

Alright, party people! Welcome to week FOUR of the One Room Challenge!!

I can’t believe we only have two weeks left. I have to admit, I did not get much done this week as I would have liked. Thankfully many new items did ship including my new Serena and Lily Montara mirror, wishbone chair for my desk and my Dash and Albert rug. I have to say, I’m pretty happy with how everything is coming together!!!

As a little reminder, here’s where we started:

Step One: Finalizing new bedroom paint color. Insert Berh’s Blue Me Away.

My inspiration board for some key pieces I shared in Week Two. I ended up with three out of the six pieces below. #winning!

Major desk updates I shared in Week Three. I still need to finalize how I want to style my desk as I don’t want to take away from my Gray Malin that will be above my bed.

Here’s whats left to get done:

One. Hire someone to come install my custom bamboo shades from the Shade Store!

Two. Finalize prints for my gallery wall.

Five. Determine whether or not I will be investing in new lamps for my dresser.

Can we please talk about Hans Wagner’s Wishbone Chair for a second?

In case you are keeping up with my One Room Challenge (Week 1 & Week 2 for reference), I have been decorating like crazy. More to come this Thusrday, but my desk finally arrived!!! I bit the bullet and went with West Elm’s Mini Mid-Century desk after searching high and low for the perfect white desk. After coming to this design decision, it’s now time to nail down a chair. I have been such a fan of Hans Wagner Wishbone Chair for quite some time. With it’s sleek design and use of natural materials, it’s no surprise we see it time and time again in different home features across the web. It’s a classic piece you can most certainly hold on to for years to come.

Although an original Hans Wagner wishbone chair can run around $500-$600 a piece, I’d prefer to “get the look” for now (#girlonabudget). Amazon particularly has a great option in addition to Wayfair. Although not your typical “wishbone” design, West Elm’s John Vogel chair has a similar look which I also love.

Very excited to update you guys this Thursday with more One Room Challenge updates! Have a great Tuesday. Xo. Lauren

Get The Look: An Easy, Elegant Bedroom
2

I have many a design board on Pinterest. My favorite is easily my Design Eye Candy board. This one has been around the longest, ever since I joined Pinterest back in…2011? Crazy. I also launched Small Spaces, Big Style and a Lovely Kitchen board to start getting more niche with spaces and design ideas I love.

When I pinned the image below, I instantly thought that I could sleep here.

Neutral color palette, a huge tufted headboard (yum), white crisp linens and a cozy throw. This bedroom screams cozy oasis + it’s not too expensive to recreate! Insert this side table from Target for only $100 dollars. I can’t get enough of the Safavieh collection.

I also found a similar faux fur throw on Restoration Hardware – I have been shopping for the perfect faux fur blanket for the past two years and Restoration is the winner (I love the thickness and quality).

You can also find similar linens from Serena & Lily and a very similar headboard from Pottery Barn – search their “Chesterfield” collection. Would you sleep here? Xo. Lauren
