Weekend Notes

Hello, ladies and Happy Friday! We are officially 20 days away from Christmas. Isn’t that NUTS?! I have zero plans this weekend – winning! – but hoping to get some work done on the interwebs. I know I haven’t done this in a while but today I’ve rounded up some links I have been loving as of late. Enjoy!

2014 Holiday Gift Guide: All About Beauty
4

When I first started blogging, I rarely posted about beauty but more and more I find myself sharing my beauty and skincare routines. I think as I get older and have realized how important it is to take care of your skin,  I love sharing my tips and tricks that I’ve picked up from beauty experts and girlfriends along the way!

Below you can find a full roundup of the best makeup and beauty gifts to give this holiday season . I’m currently all about Caudalie. I only started using this skincare line this year but I’m pretty sure I’m fully converted which is why you can see many of their products included below.

I started using one product months ago which has since turned into me using several of the products from their skin care line. If there is one product you must buy from this roundup, it is Caudalie’s Detox Overnight Oil. This guy at Sephora originally sold me on it and to be honest, I didn’t really believe him. I’ve gone 27 years without incorporating any oils, so why start now? Welp, I noticed results instantly. You can see my first blog post about this product here but anyways, it is a 100 percent plant based formula that supports cell renewal at night – It brightens, detoxes and hydrates (yes, please!).

Believe it or not, you can also still shop extended sales like on J.Crew (30% off select winter styles) and West Elm (shop up to 70% off clearance!). You’re welcome.

Second. I’m on the Everygirl today! I had so much fun shooting these photos in my hometown in Cleveland, Ohio. You can take a peek at the entire feature here. I love that Hallie, Jess and I capture three totally cute but totally different looks. Xo. Lauren

Coffee Talk: Interior Designer Antonino Buzzetta
0

I cannot believe it’s officially December! Today I want to introduce you all to interior designer, Antonino Buzzetta! He’s been featured everywhere from Elle Decor to Rue Magazine so I’m thrilled to have him take part in this series! You can take a peek at Antonino’s work here and be sure to follow along with his design adventures on Instagram here.

1.  Top 3 Interior Design Tips & Tricks:

  • If it’s dark, go darker! The darker the better. I don’t believe that rooms have to be light to feel larger.
  • Go bold! I love to choose intense colors for a sofa and let its surrounding pieces to be more serene. Most people are afraid to do so, so they usually go bold with pillows. I say take the risk!
  • Always use white linens and towels. Never cross the line – always use a white or off white.

2. Your favorite mistake you’ve learned from: Always measure twice! There is nothing more gut-wrenching than having the “sofa doctor” take apart a custom sofa to get it through the door.

3. Go-to Paint Color:  Silver Fox: Benjamin Moore. It’s warm grey that acts as a neutral.

4. What’s the weirdest or most out-of-the-box item you’ve incorporated into a home? I love insects. There is something quite surreal about having large framed insects on the walls.

5. Must-Have Coffee Table Book: Tom Ford’s book is a must!

6. Best Piece of Advice You’ve Ever Received: Never to make any small plans in life.

7. Currently Reading: I just recently finished Joan River’s Dairy of a Mad Diva. She made me pee my pants. It was a shame to see such an amazing person leave us, much too soon.

8. Go-to way to enhance a small space: I LOVE using an antiqued or tinted mirror on an accent wall. It creates a sense of depth in a small space.

9. Cocktail: A Negroni cocktail, I just love it!

10. Motto: Life is too short to live with an Ikea sofa.

11. A fashion designer or brand you take a style cue from? Anything Tom Ford touches, I love it!

12. Bar Cart Essentials: Ingredients to go with my Negroni.

13. Wardrobe Staple: For me, I love Lavin sneakers, Belstaff denim and a simple v-neck sweater. If you catch me on the street, I’ll probably be wearing these items.
