A Sophisticated Beacon Hill Brownstone

I went to Boston for this first time this previous October. I was excited to visit as all of my friends have raved about Boston. The small, charming city lived up to everything my friends said it would be with the neighborhood of Beacon Hill being no exception. I loved walking up and down the rolling hills full of historic brownstones. New York, of course, is also full beautiful brownstones in many neighborhoods but for whatever reason, they’re just not as charming as the ones found throughout Beacon Hill.

I came across Nina Farmer’s sophisticated brown stone in Beacon Hill on One King’s Lanes blog this morning and had to share. Nina and her family originally settled on the top floor of this town home, before buying the entire home when the family downstairs eventually moved out. Nina gutted and renovated the entire space, combining rooms to build the kitchen, keeping the historic molds and casings, and reinventing this space to feel fresh and modern. It’s that time of year again! The Shopbop Spring Sale Event is back. Shopbop is offering 15-25% off site wide. Now is one of my favorite times to stock up on brands I wouldn’t normally shop or want to spend the money like Mara Hoffman or Loeffler Randall. It’s also a grew time to stock up on spring basics like tanks, sandals or white jeans/shorts. Step Inside A Cool Northern California Family Abode

Nailing kid-proof but adult friendly aesthetic can difficult. Designer Emillie Munroe killed it when designing this Northern California family abode. I came across this home tour on Lonny and had to share. Since a lot of my friends are starting to have kids now, we always have this conversation. A home has to be both for you and your kids. Of course every home should be functional and work for everyone, but that doesn’t mean you should lose your sense of style! The family room and the kids room are two of my favorite spaces in this house – love the checkered surf board and palm tree wallpaper! What do you think? Do you have kids?
