Can we please talk about Hans Wagner’s Wishbone Chair for a second?

In case you are keeping up with my One Room Challenge (Week 1 & Week 2 for reference), I have been decorating like crazy. More to come this Thusrday, but my desk finally arrived!!! I bit the bullet and went with West Elm’s Mini Mid-Century desk after searching high and low for the perfect white desk. After coming to this design decision, it’s now time to nail down a chair. I have been such a fan of Hans Wagner Wishbone Chair for quite some time. With it’s sleek design and use of natural materials, it’s no surprise we see it time and time again in different home features across the web. It’s a classic piece you can most certainly hold on to for years to come.

Although an original Hans Wagner wishbone chair can run around $500-$600 a piece, I’d prefer to “get the look” for now (#girlonabudget). Amazon particularly has a great option in addition to Wayfair. Although not your typical “wishbone” design, West Elm’s John Vogel chair has a similar look which I also love.

Very excited to update you guys this Thursday with more One Room Challenge updates! Have a great Tuesday. Xo. Lauren

One Room Challenge: Week Two
21

Welcome to week two of the One Room Challenge!!! Woop woop!! In case you missed it, here’s what happened last week.

You know, there’s nothing like a deadline to really get your butt in gear when it comes to decorating. Although I have a long way to go (i.e. fabrics to finalize, large pieces of furniture still need to be delivered, bedding to buy), here’s what I got done last week:

1.My super painted my room. I ended up choosing many of your recommendations, Behr’s Blue Me Away and I have to say, I’m literally obsessed!!! This picture below doesn’t really do it justice. The baby blue is not too light and not too dark – exactly what I was looking for and looks beautiful during all hours of the day. We will just have to wait for the professional photos for the color to truly reflect in photos…

Bedroom-Update-2

2. My curtains are finally hung! I opted for Pottery Barn’s White Linen drapes paired with West Elm’s Antiqued Brass curtain rod. #winning.

3. My new LG Smart TV is hung (and yes that is my baby TV I was using for 4 years prior…) #notwinning

4. My Gray Malin came!!! Talk about a great mail day. I can’t wait to show you this beauty.

Bedroom Update

Ok, so after writing this it doesn’t seem like all that much got done but it feels like an accomplishment in my book!  My super painting my bedroom is a major win in and of itself. I always say he is my New York City Dad!! I’m just glad I didn’t have to resort to Craigslist or task rabbit to get this done.

Anywhoooo.

Below is a little inspiration board of pieces that I have left on my wish list for this challenge. Insert West Elm’s Mid-Century Desk, Serena and Lily’s Montara Mirror, Dash and Albert Fair Isle Woven Rug, Crow’s Nest Inspired Pillows and wanderlust beach photography. If my bedroom doesn’t reflect me at this point in my life, I don’t know what will!

Be sure to check in with the other One Room Challenge participants right this way and check in next week to see my progress! Hoping to have some more major updates by then – FINGERS CROSSED.

Navy Basics
2

Happy Monday, my friends!

This weekend was full of rest and relaxation. It was the first weekend that it really felt like fall here in the city. Pumpkins were out on every corner, restaurants were buzzing with football, and most importantly, some of my favorite people were back in town after a summer full of travel.

So with fall officially in full swing, it’s time to start investing in some new wardrobe basics – in my favorite color of course – NAVY. From big chunky sweaters to oversized totes, there are so many great navy basics you can incorporate into your fall wardrobe.

You can shop my favorite navy basics below by clicking on the black and white “+” below. Xo. Lauren
