Step Inside Annie Selke’s New Luxury Inn 33 Main | Lenox, MA

What I love most about living in New York and on the East Coast in general is the ability to plan weekend trips to surrounding states and towns within a 48 hour window! So when the Annie Selke team invited me to Lenox, Massachusetts to visit her new luxury inn, 33 Main, of course I said YES!

I had never visited Lenox or the surrounding villages that make up the Berkshires but I was pleasantly surprised to learn that Lenox is only 3 hours from the city or about 2 hour 15 minute drive from Stamford, Connecticut! I invited my cousin Holly to drive up with me (or should I say, I asked her to drive US since I don’t have a car) to Annie’s new Inn so we can indulge in a relaxing girls weekend!

We hit the road quite early Saturday morning and arrived to Annie’s Inn around 10:30am. We were graciously welcomed by Becca, Annie’s Inn Keeper, who had breakfast and french pressed coffee waiting for us upon our arrival. Omg, you guys. When I say breakfast… I mean home made waffles with cream cheese and blue berries on top. Breakfast over the course of our weekend was our absolute favorite meal of the day!

The Inn is located right off main street and is housed in a historic, 4,320-square-foot building federal building and is made up of 8 rooms — two of which are pet friendly! I stayed in the blue and white room photographed below and it felt like I was in an actual home vs. hotel – so cozy! What I loved most is that each room is uniquely decorated and full of Annie’s furniture, textiles and linens. Each bathroom includes apothecary products from Farmaesthetics that are 100% natural and certified organic products (my favorite!). The beds are from the mattress company, Hastens, which are so luxurious. If you haven’t heard of Hastens, please do yourself a favor and google this brand right now. These mattresses are often passed down as heirlooms in Europe as the price tag that come along with these mattresses are pretty hefty! So needless to say we slept VERY well on Saturday night! Last but not least, you can expect freshly baked cookies, cocktail hour and complimentary wi-fi – yes, please!

Throughout the course of our stay in Lenox, we were able to visit the Crawnwell Spa, shop at Annie’s Pop Up Shop (located right across from the Inn), grab dinner at Bistro Zinc, and explore the surrounding villages of Stockbridge and Lee. Holly and I loved our weekend so much we already are planning on taking our moms back here next summer! We also popped in this little shop called Mackimmie Co. which has fabulous plaid wool blankets that are imported from Scotland.

A few must have items I discovered from staying at Annie’s Inn include: this fleece robe (you guys, you have to buy this – either for yourself, or for your mom, sister or aunt for Christmas). It is so plush, warm and fuzzy – perfect for these cold winter months! This Dover fleece blanket was also amazing to sleep with. I learned that I need a coverlet or a matelasse coverlet (right, Beth?!) I love this one and this one. Last but not least, this Lloyd Grey Micro Hooked rug and this Indigo Fairwood 4-Drawer Dresser were in the bedroom I stayed in and both are officially on my wish-list!

All in all it was amazing and relaxing weekend. So if you’re planning a trip to the Berkshires this winter or spring, you must add 33 Main to your list! Don’t forget to follow Annie and 33 Main on Instagram! Xo. Lauren

10 Christmas Tree Decorating Ideas
3

Simple-Classic-Christmas-Tree

Happy November! Can you guys believe it? This year is practically over – omg!

What I love most about the month of November is that it’s fully acceptable to start getting excited for Christmas. Has anyone started their Christmas shopping yet?

I am beginning to brainstorm different decorating ideas when it comes to my Christmas tree. Last year I went with a red and silver theme. I unfortunately wasn’t able to shoot my tree or my apartment during the holidays since I barely had any furniture. So this year I’m on a mission to decorate and shoot well before Christmas.

I browsed some of my favorite websites like House Beautiful and My Domaine for some Christmas tree decorating ideas and came across so many good ones! The one trend I absolutely love this year is incorporating pre-lit christmas trees in every room of the house. From the kitchen to the bedroom to the living room, incorporating different sized christmas trees throughout each and every room creates an element of excitement and elegance for your guests around the holidays.

This year I think I will stick with my red and silver theme similar to last year but I’m leaning towards a more traditional Christmas. I’ll be stealing a bunch of Old World ornaments from my mom. I’ve also discovered that Amazon is great for purchasing in bulk and affordable ornaments if you are sticking to a single color scheme. Pottery Barn has so much holiday decor to choose from – I love these traditional Christmas plates and mugs.

Things I skipped out on last year that I’m on a mission to incorporate into my decor this year include: a beautiful wreath and garland, a tree skirt or tree stand, a tree topper and various decor for my entry way and kitchen. Oh, I also I’m in need of plaid pillows! How good are these italian wool pillows from Williams-Sonoma? $190 is a little out of my budget so it looks like Wayfair it is!

What’s on your holiday shopping list? Xo. Lauren

10 Kitchen Accessories You Need Right Now From H&M Home
3

Real talk. Have you guys shopped H&M’s home section yet?! Go. right now

I can’t tell you the last time I shopped at H&M. Not that I have anything against the major retailer, however, it’s almost always full of tourists when I’m shopping on 5th avenue so I make sure to stay clear. Any who, yesterday Amy was over and we were chatting kitchen accessories. I’ve been on a hunt for natural wood and ceramic kitchen decor and accessories ever since moving to the Upper East Side. I’m sure like many of you, Pottery Barn, Williams-Sonoma and Home Goods are my initial go-tos. I also love everything from McGee and Co. However, I hateeeee spending a pretty penny on kitchen decor. Who wants to justify paying $100+ for a marble fruit bowl? As much as I would love to, it’s just not in my budget right now.

So when I discovered H&M home collection, I went crazy. How have I been living under a rock and never shopped H&M home?! Someone, help.

I picked up this ceramic bowl for $24.99 – it would be perfect to display limes, lemons or fruit. I also picked up this stoneware bowl ($9.99) that would be perfect for displaying assorted nuts at my next party. I can’t tell you for how long I’ve been wanting a ceramic or stoneware pitcher ($17.99) to display pretty wooden utensil set ($12.99). I can’t wait to use this natural wood bowl in my next shoot (it also comes in black!). I didn’t buy but on my wish list includes this wicker basket which would be great for storing throw blankets or pillows for $34.99 and this gold mirror for $17.99.

Did I get you hooked now or what?! Happy shopping! Xo. Lauren

I always get excited when September rolls around. I’m never really expecting it because I’m usually too busy wrapping up my summer travel over Labor Day. This year was even a bit more hectic given my back-to-back trips to France and Nantucket! Let’s just say I’m a little tired this week..

September is a month that will forever remind me of Back to School. Even though I’m well passed my high school and college days, I always love refreshing my desk or “school” accessories around this time of year.
