Aerin-Lauder-Williams-Sonoma-Collection-At-Home-Entertaining

If there’s one person I want to be when I grow up it’s Aerin Lauder. From her stunning lighting collection produced with Visual Comfort & Co. to her latest (and best yet) tableware collection for Williams-Sonoma, her taste is exquisite and I seriously love every single thing she does.

I’ve been meaning to get this blog post up for a few weeks now but better late than never, am I right? And now that it’s officially May, it feels more appropriate to start collecting new glassware, linens, plates & candles just in time for summer entertaining. Unfortunately we don’t have a big patio or porch to sit outside on here in New York (#goals), but we will of course host our dinner parties inside with the windows wide open all summer long.

In other recent news, I’m excited to share that we finally made a decision on a dinning room table so yes, we will be entertaining in no time! You can catch up on our progress right here. You better believe I will be picking out a few pieces from Aerin’s latest collection with Williams-Sonoma. What I love most about her newest collection is that you can easily mix and match dinner plates with different patterned salad plates, vibrant glasses, colorful linens with classic rattan chargers. You guys know I have a thing for decorating a table with mixed and matched collections so this entire mix of products is right up my alley!

Currently sitting in my shopping cart are these blue and white porcelain plates — they will easily last for years to come! This sea blue geometric platter takes me back to the restaurants in the South of France last summer so you know this is an easy pick. And although these on the more expensive side of things, I looooove the wicker hurricanes in the collection.

Below are more of my must-have pieces to shop — which are your favorite?!? Xo. Lauren

Project Greenwich Village: Dinning Room Inspiration
0

South-Hampton-Home

We’ve officially been in our new apartment for 3 full months! I’m happy to report back that we’ve made some great headway these past few weeks. If you’re just tuning in, you can catch up on all of the details right here! We extended our Room & Board couch so it’s a full U-shaped sectional, our custom Shade Store shades were installed last week and at last, we have some artwork on the walls!

Next up on the list is the dinning room. I’ve been perusing Pinterest and my favorite design projects to get some major inspiration. I’ve never had the chance to decorate a dinning room since living in Manhattan is expensive AF so I’m really excited about this space + the opportunity to host dinner parties! Isn’t it fun to get lost in pretty images?

Overall I think we’re headed in a modern + traditional design scheme for the dinning area. I absolutely love the look of a natural wood farmhouse dinning table mixed with modern chairs & a traditional light fixture.

I’m so excited to share that we decided on a restoration hardware table —  specifically the Torano Salvaged Rectangle table. If you’re also in the market for a new dinning room table – I would highly recommend this one! First of all, it’s on sale and I LOVE the natural color of the wood. It’s scheduled to be delivered next week, can not wait! I also can’t forget to mention we also ordered the salvage wood bench. I love the idea of being bale to mix the bench with a variety of dinning chairs.

Since we’re decided on the table and bench, we’re now in the market for new dinning chairs. McGee & Co actually has a great selection of both dinning tables & chairs — how pretty would these dakota chairs be or these Lindsay side dinning chairs? #goals. The responsible design decision would be to just add on to our collection of the Wisteria Louis Fabric Back Side Chairs as it would definitely help us save money. What I love most about shopping at Wisteria is that they have major sales every few months so you can get classic pieces at great prices — my chairs we’re discounted to $199 this month so definitely keep an eye out!

Once we decide on our chairs, we’ll need a small chandelier & a 6×9 rug to pull the space together. It’s been so fun seriously looking at chandeliers for the first time.  Circa lighting has so many great options in addition to One Kings Lane. A few of my favorite lighting brands include Aerin, E.F. Chapmen and Kelly Wearstler.  For rugs, I would love a Madeline Weinrib dhurrie rug – I rounded up my favorite dhurries right here!

Below is my current dinning room collage with the table and bench we ordered + a shopping roundup! What do you think about mixing and matching materials in the chandelier & mirror? Would love to hear your thoughts in the comments below! Xo. Lauren

Indian Dhurrie Rugs
2

Screen Shot 2018-03-30 at 5.12.35 PM

It’s officially been two months since we moved in to our new Greenwich Village apartment! I can’t believe it. As you could imagine, the decorating process is taking time but I’m happy to report we’re making progress. Our new couch is in production, we’re close to finalizing the fabric for our custom shades from the Shade Store and lastly, we decided on a dinning room table!

One item I’ve added to our apartment wish list in recent weeks is a traditional indian dhurrie rug to live under our dinning table. I’m sure you guys have seen these in magazines & across on Pinterest but in case you’re not familiar —  indian dhurrie rugs are a flatweave cotton or wool rugs that many times can be reversible. What I love most about these traditional rugs is that you can find them in a wide variety of colors and intricate patterns. I particularly love indian dhurrie rugs that include a “haveli” stripe — insert this one and this one! So pretty, right? I’ve done so much research on where to buy indian dhurrie rugs that I thought I would share with you guys!

My number one recommendation is Madeline Weinrib – she has the best curated selection and truly great pricing. Serena and Lily also has a great selection to chose from but not surprisingly, their options are more expensive and don’t have as many sizing options available. I personally love this one and this one! If you want to get the look but don’t want to spend the money, Overstock and Wayfair have a ton of great rugs (at amazing prices). I loved this fun little pattern and the mix of grey and blue tones on this one!

Have you purchased an Indian Dhurrie Rug for your home? If so, I’d love to hear where you got it from!! Leave a comment below. Xoxo. Lauren

The Shade Store
2

I’m so excited to be able to work with the Shade Store again in our new apartment! I can understand how many people think of windows or window drapery as an after thought. For me it always tends to be one of my biggest priorities when decorating a new space. I strongly believe that window treatments can make a huge impact and help finish a space! I’m stopping by the Shade Store in Soho tomorrow afternoon and so excited to see some of their new product they have in store.

The Shade Store makes it so simple to order new custom shades. All you have to do is make an appointment to have one of their window experts come over to measure your windows, order the swatches & place your order!

The measuring in my opinion is the biggest help to me. You can of course do this yourself but if you’re working with a tricky window and in our case a large corner window, I rather leave this up to the specialists! The last thing you want to do is place a large custom window treatment order and have the dimensions be off.

When it comes to custom window treatments, the options are endless! I personally love this first image below from Studio McGee – a crisp white linen with a navy trim. I also love the look of a relaxed roman shade!

Do you have a preference when it comes to window treatments? Would love to hear in the comments below! Xo. Lauren
