Chasing Summer: Surfs Up
1

Surf-Board-Inspiration-R1

I have to admit, I’ve never gone surfing in my life. It’s always been a bucket list item for me so hopefully one day I can make it happen. However, I don’t let this hold me back from appreciating the culture. I absolutely love surf photography! Who’s with me?  In case you’re also in to surf photography & books, I’ve rounded up a few of my favorites below.

I have two out of these three surf photographs. One Kings Lane also has so many great surf photography options. V. into this vintage photo and this one. Coffee table books  are another great way to incorporate the surf culture into your home – I’ve added LeRoy Granni’s book to my coffee table book que in addition to Surf Club and Surfing Photographs From The Eighties by Jeff Divine.

You can shop my favorite surf photography and coffee table books below! Surfs up, dude. 😉

I recently came across Ashley Whittaker Interior Design and can’t get enough! I don’t even know how I came across Ashley’s website but I did some style stalking and came across this Southampton project. This is what #lifegoals are made out of. Am I right? I haven’t spent much time in Southampton myself but I can only imagine the homes are just as pretty as this one. The outdoor lounge and living areas have to be my favorite out of this entire project. The living room and bedroom are also beautiful spaces. It’s funny that I’m starting to realize my eye is moving more toward traditional spaces. I was out to brunch with Gabby and Sam yesterday and we were all chatting about our evolving sense of styles. Gab mentioned she’s loving more modern pieces and I most recently have been in to more traditional homes. Have you noticed your style evolving over the past year or so? Anywho, I’ve scoured the web and found some similar products to the one featured in the Southampton project. Be sure to shop them below! Have a great start to the week, everyone! Xo. Lauren

Happy Monday, friends! How was everyones weekend? The weather was so beautiful in New York so I was out and about most of the weekend with friends. Loooooving everything spring has to offer right now!

Anywho, if there’s one trend I’m seriously loving right now – it’s scalloped bedding!! When I was redesigning my bedroom for the One Room Challenge last year, I opted for Pottery Barn’s Morgan 400-count border frame bedding. I still love the border frame, however, I think when I move into my next apartment I’m going to try scalloped bedding with a monogram, of course. I’ve come across several bedrooms online that incorporate a scalloped trim and I can’t get enough! I particularly love Matouk’s scalloped bedding options. Wayfair also makes a more affordable option and One Kings Lane is also a great resource for several scalloped bedding options.

Earlier this week I stopped by Kate Spade’s new home pop up shop! Situated perfectly on West Broadway, the pop up shop is in a prime location down in SoHo and is sprawling with sophisticated and whimsical home decor that’s sure to make any house a home. From statement dressers and colorful sofas to everything you would need for a dinner party, the Kate Spade home pop up shop is too cute not to stop by!! So if you live in New York or are currently planning a visit here this spring, you have to stop by! The photos I snapped on my iPhone of course do not do it justice but I seriously want to move in.

I have been a fan of the brand’s desk accessories for quite some time. Insert this stapler, tape dispenser, pencil holder, tray and odds and ends dish. And can we please talk about their stationary? Love every single thing. The new furniture collection is so pretty – I personally loved this turquoise couch and the worthington bed. I picked up new sheets during my visit, too – I opted for the navy grace sheet set. You can see all of the bedding options right here.

What I was most surprised by during my visit was all of the cute and cheeky kitchenware items + how affordable everything was! Insert this add the sauce oven mitt, this whistle while you work tea pot, a little bit of that canister + this navy and white stripe canister, and my absolute favorite discovery was this fruit pitcher and glass set! Would be perfect to use during a spring or summer picnic. You can shop more of my favorite Kate Spade home items below! Happy weekend, friends. Xx.
