With our wedding right around the corner we have been upping our workouts each week! I’ve been on a mission to find new activewear for spring and have come across so many goodies on Shopbop. A few of my favorite activewear brands at the moment include Alo Yoga, Beyond Yoga and Year of Ours.
I started shopping Alo last year when Covid first hit – I picked up a few pair of their biker shorts and sports bras and haven’t stopped wearing them since!
Also if you’re in the market for new running shoes, I feel like everyone is talking about On Running. I personally love the way they look and apparently they are super comfortable as well! P.s. if you’re in NYC, they have a new retail location close to SoHo / Union Square.
I cannot believe our wedding is right around the corner! I feel like we’ve been engaged for a million years now since we had to postpone our June wedding last year due to covid like so many other families. But hey, what are you going to do? Thank goodness we’re actually feeling good about being able to host our friends and families in Connecticut this summer with the vaccine rollout!!
Lately I’ve been on the hunt for white dresses and two-piece matching sets I could wear for various events including my bachelorette party, bridal shower & rehearsal dinner! I expect more designers will continue to rollout spring/summer collections in the coming weeks so we will have plenty of pretty options to choose from. A few of my favorites at the moment include this little white number from Black Halo for a bridal shower or rehearsal dinner! I feel like you can’t go wrong with anything from Black Halo for formal events as their dresses flatter every body type! I can’t get enough of this white dress from Silvia Tcherassi or this white dress from Alice + Olivia!
Everything from Sea and Juliet Dunn would compliment any bachelorette party wardrobe. There are also so many pretty white bathing suits out right now!! Be sure to check out Mara Hoffman, Marysia (always a fav), and L*Space!
Are you getting married this summer?! I’d love to know!! Happy shopping!! Xo. Lauren
We’re headed to Charleston tomorrow and I’m feeling all of the vacation feels!! Looks like weather will be in the 60’s majority of the time we are there and we’re keeping our fingers crossed it may even cross over to the 70’s. Although we’re not planning on doing much I do want to do a little antique shopping if you guys have any recommendations! I’d also love to hear about any of your favorite restaurants!! Send me a message on insta or drop me a note! lauren@lauren-nelson.com. 🙂
Anywho – shopping for vacation is always more fun than winter clothes in my opinion.
Be sure to shop some of my favorite pieces below and just in case you missed it, take a peak at everything I’m loving from Zimmermann right now! Happy Shopping. Xo. Lauren
We slowly have been making apartment updates throughout the pandemic. Like so many others, staying at home 99% of the time makes you realize everything you could change or switch out! We finally hung art that I was dragging my feet on, switched out lighting in our entry way and living room and most recently, bought a few new pieces of furniture for our bedroom!
Our bedroom will be the biggest transformation post-pandemic. It operates as my office and I definitely needed to make some changes if our working from home situation was going to continue. I can’t wait to share photos with you guys!
Anywho, we were waiting to make the final big purchase which is a new king bed from Serena and Lily. They are currently running their bedroom sale event so it was the perfect time to finally take the plunge! I love so many of their bed frame styles. Our front runners were the Pondicherry — I also love the version with nailheads. I am obsessed with their new Franklin bed but Josh didn’t love the four poster and I was worried the scale wouldn’t work in our NYC apartment. I will definitely keep this in mind for our future house!
We ultimately went with the Fulton Tufted Bed in the perennials white performance fabric!! I debated going with a color like their sky or fog swatch options but know the white is classic and will be easier to style in future rooms and houses to come.
One quick tip too is that Serena and Lily does provide quick ship options in select bed frame styles & stocked fabric. The Fulton Tufted could be quick shipped in the chalk fabric. We seriously debated this option after visiting the Westport location the other weekend as they had a few different pieces of furniture on the floor in chalk! I love that the chalk is more textured and appears that it could hide stains more easily. It also appears more white in person compared to the swatch which is darker. Both the chair and bed below seen here are in chalk!
We also purchased new sheets & bedding! We went with the Bel Air Duvet Cover which we currently have and love – it’s light and keeps us cool. For sheets, we went with the classic ring sheet in French blue. And last but not least, we needed a new king duvet insert and went with the Primaloft duvet — I have never tried this brand before but will report back!
