I’m keeping it short and sweet today. I’m literally typing this from the car right now (thank goodness for remote wifis!). I’m headed back to Newport, RI with my mom, aunt and cousin today! I’ve only been once back in February and as you can imagine, it was quite cold and there was so much snow. I can’t wait to see what this city is like during the summertime!
So to celebrate a little weekend getaway to one of New England’s favorite towns, I’ve rounded up some of my favorite summer finds all under $100 dollars. Be sure to follow me on Instagram for all of my Newport happenings! @_laurennelson_
I first fell in love with the director’s chair courtesy of Serena and Lily (as seen here, and currently on sale). There’s something about the easy, relaxed feel of the chairs and I love how they can transform an interior or exterior space in an instant.
If you ask me, you can’t go wrong with white, navy and white or a classic salmon color for an ultimate preppy look.
And because we live in New York and everything is f*cking small, the directors chair is the perfect piece to store away in a closet at the end of summer if needed. I’ve rounded up a few of my favorite styles of the moment.
West Elm has a very cute option with this fun print for only $50 dollars (originally $149) as does Pier 1 (not pictured below) but also in the $50 dollar range.
If you already have the frame for a director’s chair, you can swap out new covers easily via Home Depot for $9.99.
It’s that time of year again!! The Nordstrom Anniversary Sale is here which is always one of my favorite sales to shop!
I’ve scored so many great items during these sales, it’s hard NOT to buy anything. You know what I mean?
The best part about the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale is that everything is brand-stankin NEW. So the way I like to shop this sale is that I pick pieces and brands that I want to invest in like a Burberry coat or a Kate Spade dress. Honestly, when you can save $300-$400 dollars on a classic Burberry puffer coat, it’s hard to say no. Am I right?
I also use this time to stock up on a few new pair of jeans (Paige or AG), shoes (particularly Sam Edelman, Stuart Weitzman or Rag & Bone), and dresses (like DVF, Kate Spade or Equipment). My thinking is that you want to invest in pieces you know you will wear on the reg.
So let’s break down the sale, shall we?
If you’re a Nordstrom card member, you can shop RIGHT NOW. Early access begins today and will run through July 16th. The sale will open to everyone starting July 17th and run through August 2nd.
I’ve created the ultimate Nordstrom Anniversary Shopping list below – from beauty must-haves to classic wardrobe staples, here’s my favorite deals you can shop right now!!
Hello, friends! Happy 4th of July! How was everyone’s holiday weekend?
I’m currently sitting at Chicago’s Midway Airport trying to catch up on my to-do list before the week. I’ll be sharing some of my new favorite Chicago hot spots this week – can’t wait! Until then, here are some of my top links from around the web this week.
Sales & Shopping
Before heading to the airport, I popped into 900 shops to stop by J.Crew. Lucky us, they’re offering an additional 50% off sale items! Picked up this simple tank and this fun top that I would love to pair with boyfriend jeans or white denim. – JCrew.com
