15 Organizing Essentials I Bought After Watching The Home Edit on Netflix
0

Did anyone else bing watch The Home Edit on Netflix?! I seriously can’t get enough of Joanna Teplin and Clea Shearer’s quick wit and more importantly organizational tips and tricks! By the end of episode one I was already on the Container Store‘s website searching for products to help me “contain the mess” for our kitchen, pantry and closets. As much as I love decorating, I don’t love organizing as much. Perhaps if I embrace their function meets style motto this could change for me?!

Anywhoooo – I felt the need to do a round up and share everything I bought after watching The Home Edit. I focused on three main areas — closet storage, pantry storage, and our kitchen.

If there’s one thing I’ve learned from living in New York for the past 7 years is that closet space is hard to come by so every inch counts. A few of my favorite closet storage items I picked up include: these linen drop-front sweater boxes and shoe boxes, non-slip velvet hangers, these large natural lined storage baskets, and these linen cubes.

For our kitchen and pantry storage, there were several affordable products that I didn’t know existed and now I don’t know how I lived without! Insert lazy susans for olive oil, spices or cleaning products. The three tiered shelf is a no brainer and has been great for better displaying canned goods. And I love these shallow drawer organizers — these have been great for my silverware drawer and our junk drawer. Oh! And the labels have been huge for the fridge containers we picked up as well.

And just in case you love “The Art of Tidying Up” as much as The Home Edit, take a peek at one of my most popular blog posts right here!

Happy organizing!!! Xo. Lauren

New Coffee Table Books To Add To Your Collection
0

I’ve been helping one of best friends style her new bookcases in her living room and my first question was do you have any coffee table books?! One of my favorite tips to style just about any piece of furniture (consoles, end tables, night stands, coffee tables, open shelving, you name it) is to decorate with coffee table books. I started my collection over 7 years ago and I’m so happy I did. If you’re having trouble getting started, I recommend searching for coffee table books that align with your interests whether it be gardening, entertaining, fashion, traveling, etc.

In recent weeks, there have been several new book releases that I’m personally so excited about. Insert Mark D. Sikes’ “More Beautiful” — the interiors are absolutely stunning! Give me all of the blue and white, please. Designing History by Michael S. Smith is another one of my recent purchases that I couldn’t recommend more. Michael was tasked with decorating the Obama White House and it’s so interesting to learn the details that go in to decorating for a new White House administration. If you are you into podcasts, you can catch Michael on Paloma Contreras’ new podcast, The Style Files.

Other notable new and notable releases include James Farmer’s Arriving Home and Aerin Lauder’s Entertaining Beautifully. If you have any coffee table book recommendations I’d love to hear them!! 🙂 Xo. Lauren

How To Create A Stylish At Home Office | WFH Edition
0

As working from continues to be the norm, today I wanted to share how to create a stylish at home office! I’m personally on a mission to enhance my own work from home space. I really need art, a desk lamp and some desk accessories at the moment!

If you’re looking to spruce up your own at home office, Pottery Barn, Serena and Lily and One Kings Lane all have stylish work from home items to help you style your space. Pottery Barn is currently offering 20% off on all work from home accessories!!

For anyone with a large at home office, Serena and Lily’s Balboa Desk is stunning in person. It’s 58″ wide so I just recommend having a space big enough where the scale works. My home office is in our bedroom so unfortunately the square footage doesn’t work for us or else I’d invest!

I also love Serena and Lily’s Balboa Book Shelf where you could easily style books, note pads, picture frames and more. Take a peek on how Ariel Oiken styled her shelves right here.

Last but not least, Pottery Barn & Ballard Designs both have great desk chair options where they let you customize the fabric so you can make it your own. I recommend going with a color or print such as a bold stripe so stains won’t show as easily.

Have you invested in your at home office yet? Happy Shopping!! Xo. Lauren

Fall Home Decor
1

Fall is officially in the air here in New York and we couldn’t be more excited —  this time of year is always my favorite! Since we’ve been hunkered down at home these past few months, it makes me want to cozy up even more this fall! In general I like to keep our fall home decor palette pretty neutral – lot’s of whites, natural textures and candles.

A few fall home decor items I have on my radar include —

Sabre flatware — dying to invest in a new set this fall.

My love for Juliska continues — I just picked up some more of there berry and thread dinnerware & coffee mugs.

McGee and Co always has a beautiful selection of pillows and throws that would compliment just about any fall decor palette. P.s. have you seen their new collection for Target?! Definitely worth a look or a visit to your local Target.

Simon Pearce hurricanes are also on my fall wish list. We’re hoping to maybe make a trip up to Vermont this fall and visit the flagship location! I love how Amanda from Fashionable Hostess styled them here.

Last but not least, if you’re in the decorating mood pop on over to The Avenue, Fete Home and JSH Home Essentials  to take a peek at their various collections!! So good.
