Serena and Lily Bedroom Inspiration
0

You can shop so many beautiful pieces from Serena and Lily’s latest arrivals and this four poster bed might be my top pick.

I’m currently in the midst of working on our bedroom redesign at the moment now that we’ve resigned our lease and investing in a king bed is at the top of the list! It’s definitely taken me way too long to decide on what we should do for the bed. I’ve wanted to go custom for quite some time but the fabric alone adds up!! By the time you purchase the fabric, order the bed and pay for white glove shipping you’re easily looking at $3,000 and up.  As a result, I’m looking at a few different custom options from Serena and Lily and think this could be a great solution for us as fabric is included in the price. In addition to the four poster bed in the design below, a few of my favorite styles include this white cane bed, the Pondicherry bed, and the tall Franklin bed.

Outside of a new king bed, I recently picked up new white table lamps from Circa Lighting  and invested in a new white dresser from North Carolina furniture maker, Rile & Stile. They don’t have a website but you can take a peek at their instagram right here. Last but not least, a piece of art form Mary Maguire is also at the top of my list!!

Are you working on any home projects at the moment? Would love to hear about them! Xx. Lauren

One Room Challenge: Week Three
3

Hellooooo, week three! Can you believe we’re half way through the One Room Challenge? In case you missed it, take a peek at what happened Week 1 and Week 2.

This week was all about my desk area. From day one, I knew I wanted to get rid of the mini Ikea kallax shelf I had as my nightstand. Instead I wanted a desk that could also double as my nightstand because I seriously needed somewhere to #WERK. It’s hard to believe but whenever I work from home, I blog from my couch or bed. Not ideal I can tell you that!

Anywho, deciding on a desk was one of the hardest decisions I had to make this One Room Challenge! I was going back and forth for days on whether or not I was going to go with West Elm’s Mini Mid-Century Desk. 1) It’s kind of pricey. 2) You can find a white desk pretty much anywhere. However, when I was shopping with a girlfriend one day and saw the desk in person, I knew it had to be mine. Positives: It came relatively fast and it was SO easy to put together. I’m so excited how it turned out this week.

Next up: Need to make a final decision on the chair. I’m leaning towards the Hans Wagner Wishbone which duh, you knew already since blogged it about this week. Also, I think I’m in a time crunch to finalize prints for my new gallery wall (only three weeks left!). Please leave a comment if you love any pieces of art or photographs I should incorporate!!! Much, much appreciated.

P.s. how cute is my little fiddle leaf fig tree?! Not kidding I got it on Amazon ($29.99) and I’m obsessed!!

Until next week, my friends. Xo. Lauren

Whenever I give advice to friends on how to style a new space or update their current one, I always suggest them to find images of bedrooms/living rooms/etc. that they like to help them mentally picture the room. Insert my friend Steph (this is the second time I’m talking about her apartment on this blog, btw) but I love helping her with her gorgeous Greenwich apartment. She is trying to figure out the best pillow scheme (with color, mind you) to compliment her very neutral/gray space. It’s much harder, though, for her than it is for me to picture what her couch will look like with colorful pillows with different patterns.

When I first started blogging on interiors, I also found this also quite hard – imagining what or how a space could come together with different products vs. the images I saw in magazines. Nowadays, I can get one of these posts done in 20 minutes. It’s become second nature for me to pull a photo of a space I love and find the products that correspond. I think this has a lot to do with the fact that I’m constantly searching for new products on a daily basis but it’s like a have a mental roster of where to find certain products (scary?). I don’t think I’ll ever get tired of finding inspirational images when it comes to interiors and trying to re-create the look, whether it be for myself or friends. Which brings me to today’s post. I found this image below and I thought it was too pretty, not to re-create. I also think your nightstand is one of the easiest and cheapest spaces to update. Do you agree?

When I saw this nightstand, I instantly thought of West Elm and their sleek Mid-Century dressers. Although I love the hardware more on the dresser in this photo, it would be quite easy to swap in new knobs on the one I found below. I also think West Elm’s Task Lamp is pretty identical to the one in this photo. Serena & Lily is my go-to resource for all things bedding. I’m obsessed with their border frame bedding for a classic, chic look. Last but not least, your nightstand is the perfect place to display your favorite reading materials. Insert Alexa Chung’s “It” book as shown here. Do you like this nightstand look? Let me know in the comment section below! Xo. Lauren
