Packing For London & Paris In The Fall
1

Ahhhh I’m so excited as I type this — we’re headed to England tomorrow!! This will be my second visit to London and I can’t wait to explore the different neighborhoods, walk through the parks & see all of the sites! A few restaurants that are on our list for London include Chiltern Firehouse, Dishoom and Kettners.

After a few days in London, we’ll be off to Paris. I currently don’t have a ton on our itinerary besides my favorite museums and a few new-to-me restaurants on our list includingChez Georges, Frenchie and Au Passage to name a few! Do you guys have any must visit restaurants in either city? Please send our way!!

Whenever I’m packing for England or Europe during the winter months I pretty much know what we’re in for — lots of rain in London and lots of fall foliage in Paris!! #fingerscrossed

As a result, I try to pack cozy layers & fashionable cold-weather topcoats that I can easily rotate throughout our trip — insert an easy leather jacket, a classic pea coat, a trench coat & my Barbour. And just in case you haven’t seen, Club Monaco currently has so many great topcoats I’d love to add to my wardrobe!! How pretty is this plaid one?! I tried it on last weekend and it’s quite flattering + it also looks great with this plaid scarf! You can order true to size and still fit a cozy knit underneath.

After I figure out my coat situation, I move on to layers that I can easily wear & repeat like classic turtlenecks, cashmere sweaters and a few nice tops.

When I at last move on to shoes I keep it pretty simple — must bring classic booties, pretty loafers & comfortable sneakers. Because we’re expecting so much rain during our time in London, I’ll most likely bring my L.L. Bean boots just to be safe.

Last but not least, I can’t travel without my favorite skincare products!! Insert my Chuda Hydrating Cream — this cream is v. hydrating and is especially great for travel! And all of the masks (love this Sisley Paris mask!) to use both on the airplane and to sleep in during our trip.

Do you have any favorite packing tips when traveling internationally during the fall? And please, please send or comment below any of your favorite restaurants in London & Paris as we’d love to add them to our list!! Xo. Lauren

The Must-Have Towels We Are Adding To Our Registry | Micro Cotton®
0

One of the things I’ve loved most about the whole wedding planning process is creating our different registries! This includes registering for a completely new set of Micro Cotton® towels from Macy’s!

We are very particular about our towels in our household — anyone else?! And I’m so excited that we can at last get rid of the towels we have been using for the past couple of years and swap them in for a fluffy, fresh new set.

What I’ve learned over the years testing out a few different brands is that Micro Cotton® is seriously the best. Micro Cotton® towels maintain their softness wash after wash as well as maintain their vibrancy. I personally only like to buy navy towels as this hue hides stains more easily & doesn’t fade or turn yellow over time. Last but not least, I’ve also learned that Micro Cotton® has developed proprietary technology that allows the towels to achieve 1.5X absorbency. Yes, please!

So in case any of you are starting to create your own registries, I would highly recommend creating one with Macy’s and adding these Micro Cotton® towels to your list! P.s. I’m hosting a little giveaway over on my instagram (@_laurennelson_) and would love for you guys to enter!

All you have to do is comment on my latest Instagram post, tag a friend & follow @microcotton_usa in order to be entered-to-win! The winner will be announced on Monday, October 7th.

** Thank you to Micro Cotton® for sponsoring this post.

The Can’t Miss Shopbop Sale
0

You guys — the can’t miss, must-shop, sitewide Shopbop sale is BACK!!

I’m so excited because shopping for fall is the best. The temperatures haven’t dropped too much over the past few weeks here in NY but all I want to do is bust out my sweaters, leather jackets and booties!!

I’m using this particular sale to stock up on a few of my favorite brands & closet staples including:

  • Lele Sadoughi — Seriously, these headbands are expensive but the best. I’ve tried a few different brands out this season and nothing beats this one I recently bought in light pink. HIGHLY, highly recommend!
  • Smythe Blazer — I’ve wanted a Smythe blazer for quite some time now. Can we talk about how cute this blue and white striped one is?!?!?
  • Marysia Swim – I really, really want to get one of the white scalloped one pieces for our honey moon next year! Some of my best girlfriends have invested in a Marysia swimsuit and are telling me they are a must.
  • Scarves — I know I’ve mentioned this so many times but I’m always cold so investing in beautiful cashmere scarves is a must for me over the course of fall & winter! I love that you can easily rotate scarves throughout the week. Even if you wear a basic black top or sweater, scarves can instantly give you a whole new look.

Fall Wishlist
0

September in New York is simply the best. We’ve had pretty amazing weather these past two weekends with cooler temperatures setting in which makes me so excited to bring out my fall layers.

Each fall I like to make a wish list of staples I’d like to add to my wardrobe. Number one one my list this year has to be a new leather jacket. I’ve worn the same one for about 7-8 years now so I think it’s about time I invest in a new one!

All of my girlfriends rave about IRO leather jackets noting that the leather is just so soft and buttery. I’ve also heard great reviews on Mackage leather jackets. Outside of a new leather jacket, I’m constantly on the hunt for new sweaters, jeans and booties every fall.

I mentioned this the other week but I recently picked up a ton of J.Crew turtle necks to wear to work this season including their perfect fit turtleneck in camel and black as well as their tissue turtleneck in leopard and floral! They are so cute and fit really well — I personally like to layer with blazers, leather jackets or cardigan sweaters.

Also, I might be late to the game but I just picked up my first pair of Birdies slippers from Nordstrom to wear to work and I cannot believe I haven’t tried them yet!! They are so comfortable and soft I think I might live in them the next few months. I wear an 8.5 and they were a little tight on my foot so I recommend sizing up.

What do you have on your fall wish list this year? Happy Shopping! Xo. Lauren
